So, Clark was going to let me sleep in a little longer this morning (because Boogie had me up at 2am)... Boogie threw such a fit outside my bedroom door that there was no chance of me staying asleep... I opened the door and let him come in, and he squealed with delight... He asked to get up on my bed, so I lifted him up, and he immediately went fot the alarm clock radio... He knows how to turn the radio on and off, and he loves music, so he is always switching it on so he can dance... Well, you will never believe the song that was on just now... He turned it on and, literally, the first words we heard were, "Wake me up before you go-go" (an 80s song from Wham)... Awesome! If I had to be woken up, I'm glad that it was at least humerous! Later days...
So, I ran out of space on my Flickr -- as far as viewing my photos goes -- and Clark suggested I actually upgrade to Flickr Pro... I was reluctant to spend the money, but I did get money from my grandparents... So, I went for it... I am now going through and organizing all of my existing pics into sets and adding a bunch more pics... Woo-hoo! I am a Flickr Mastr... W00t! Teeheehee... Later days...
I knew it would take a lot of guts to approach my mom the first time I tried to level with her about my feelings, but I managed to do it anyway... She still believes, in her warped mind, that I only ever approached her because I was out of my mind with fertility drug hysteria... Well, I am not on fertility drugs today, and I am about to try it again... It's not so much that I started to be OK with things and suddenly changed my mind... It was more trying not to "rock the boat" when I had so much on my plate... Being pregnant and then becoming a new mom was tough enough... I didn't really want a family feud on my hands as well... Now, though, it's time to face the facts... My mom is not changing and NMD is not going anywhere... It's time to "shit or get off the pot," as Chris O'Donnell's character said in The Bachelor... God, I feel like I am gonna puke... Later days...
So, I went to the store today for a couple of reasons... I needed to get an oil change and I had a few gifts to exchange (e.g. get widescreen instead of fullscreen on a DVD)... I dropped the car off and then walked outside and around the store so they would not think I had picked things up on the way to the returns area... I waited in line a little while, got the gift card with store credit, and then went shopping to get the replacement items... Not so bad... I looked for a couple other things I needed as well, and the hour was almost up -- sweet! I went back to the automotive area, and the woman told me my car was not yet ready... I told her I would wait in their little waiting room, and she said she would let me know when my car was done... About 45 minutes later, I realized I would be late for work if they took much longer... I went up and told the woman that I would need to come back another time, but she said that my car was already done -- she just "didn't get a chance to call me yet"... Riiiiiight... I saw her out there gabbing with a coworker, but whatever... At least the oil change was done... She told me what the total was, but it didn't make any sense... I didn't ask for the more expensive oil change, so I asked her what the price difference was all about... She looked at the computer and said there was a note about needing to upgrade to the more expensive filter since they ran out of the standard one... I was like, "That's not my fault!" She said they are supposed to ask before doing anything like that and suggested that I take it up with the people at customer service... I lugged my stuff back through the store, waited in the long post-holiday returns line, explained my case to the cashier, waited for her to get the manager, explained the situation to him, lugged my stuff back to the automotive area, and finally left... Since this trip took so long, I knew I would not have time to make lunch and sit down to eat before work, so I bought food at McDonald's and ate on the way to work... Grrrrr... I am trying to be healthy, but stupid crap like this makes me crave fast food in the first place (I am a stress eater, for sure) let alone my time constraints before our big program this afternoon... Luckily, the kiddos really enjoyed the program, their parents were really happy with things, and Goddess doesn't expect much out of me (anyone, really) after a big program like that... So, yeah... I am basically just trying to get little things done so time will go by and I can go home... Not looking forward to tomorrow, since I am planning on having that dreaded conversation (re: NMD) with my mom... Bah... Things will get better soon, right?!? Later days...
Boogie got a baby for Christmas, and he absolutely loves him... First of all, let me explain how we know he loves his baby so much... We asked him what his baby's name is and he said, "Pan!" If you do not already know, Pan is our cat's name -- and Boogie loves that cat to death (almost literally, lately, with all the tail pulling and all)... But, I digress... So, Baby Pan (BP) is now dressed in some of Boogie's newborn clothes, even though they are way too big for a Cabbage Patch Kid Newborn, but whatever! Boogie is always kissing BP on the head and feeding him with a fake bottle or sippy cup... Apparently, BP is as ravenous as his daddy was! Today, when Boogie was doing a potty-try, he begged for BP (he kept saying, "want baby" like his aunt recently taught him!)... Once he had BP, he insisted on also having the "milk"(sippy cup)... Once I handed it over, he just kept feeding and kissing BP over and over... OMG! I thought my heart would explode after bearing witness to all that cuteness... And, just in case you don't believe me, you can see for yourself:
Isn't that just the most precious thing?!? Sure made my day... Hope it made you smile too! Later days...
One program down and one to go... At my first program, I had 3 kids (well, a 4th came at the very end), and they all enjoyed themselves... I would call that a success, regardless of the numbers, you know?!? We did DDR for about an hour and a half, so I was able to take a few turns too... Yay! I love DDR... I should totally get the Mario version for the Gamecube! It should also be useable on the Wii when we get it in February -- it will surely be a Happy Valentine's Day for Clark and me! =) ... I have about an hour until my crocheting program, and I actually have like 14 kids signed up for this one -- with some kids are coming from like 20-30 miles away! Whoa! I am so nervous... There will be some sort of expectation of goodness, I presume, and I just hope I am a good enough teacher when it comes to crocheting... I have never really taught anyone to crochet before, let alone a large-ish group, so wish me luck! Teeheehee... Better go eat dinner before the kids start showing up! Later days...
So, Boogie had a great Christmas -- even if he did get sick of us telling him to go over and unwrap another present... We did pretty well keeping it light since we knew Clark's family would go crazy... We knew not how crazy they would be, though... Take this for instance:
This is one of the reasons I love Christmas -- the cute little kids who have no clue what to do during the church Christmas pageant! I just added pictures to my Flickr, and I am putting two adorable videos up here... Boogie is the cow, and the rooster is our pastor's grandson... Enjoy!
So, I think this could very well be the last civil family function on my side of the family... I have decided to tell my mom that NMD (Not My Dad) is not exactly welcome anymore... Mom already knows that my sister doesn't want him arond -- he is not welcome at her house... I have put up with it a little more than she only because my child was not yet old enough to understand... Well, that is changing... And my patience is wearing thin... I was so supportive of this relationship, at first, because I thought my mom would finally leave my dad and stop putting/bringing him down... I guess I was wrong... My parents are still "married," and NMD is still around... This year will make 4 years that we have had to put up with NMD at our family Christmas Eve, and it just isn't right... He always outshines my dad with his gifts to my mom, and it is so painful to watch my dad as my mom opens a diamond tennis bracelet or some other extravagant gift from NMD... Of course my dad can't afford anything like that -- he works his ass off just to provide for my mom (so she can sit on her ass all day and not even keep their house clean)... Nothing like waking up in a good mood for Christmas celebrations, huh?!? I guess I just hope that the dreams I had last night don't come true... Have a Merry Christmas everybody... I will be back to post tomorrow night... Later days...
