On a rainy day, on the weekend, I can get an amazing amount of work done without being "bothered" by too many patrons... Teeheehee... I have done several things on my "to do" list, and I am about to do a little more... Yay for feeling like I have accomplished something! Later days...
Is like a drug to me... I swear... Whenever I am organizing things, I get so happy and have such a brighter outlook... (I'm sure that's the OCD talking)... I always feel so weighed down by the loads and load (and loads) of laundry that are waiting to be put away... Or the closet that is so jumbled I don't know where anything is... Or the sink full of dirty dishes... Or the grimy counter top... Today, I have the entire day to do anything and everything I have been putting off for weeks now, and it is so great to see how much I accomplished already... I swear... Clark is not going to recognize this place when he gets home tonight! Later days...
So, we have always used anatomically correct terms with Boogie... We have also encouraged him to be as specific as possible when he is apologizing, so he recognizes why it is he is even apologizing in the first place... Put the two together, and you get an incredibly funny moment at the party this evening... Boogie and Woogie ran at me with golf clubs that they were pretending were swords, and Boogie rammed me right in the front of my vagina... I collapsed, and Clark came over to see/ask what was wrong... I quickly explained that Boogie had hit me in the vagina and that I felt like I was gonna die... Of course, Clark told Boogie that hitting was not ok and that he needed to apologize... So, Boogie says, "Sorry." Clark prods, "Sorry for..." And Boogie, without understanding why the adults suddenly started laughing hysterically, adds, "Sorry for putting my golf club in your vagina, Mommy!" Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha... Good times... Later days...
Missed a very important going-away party because of a little misunderstanding... Clark and I both assumed that a party would be at our friend's house, but it's really at her parents' house -- like an hour away... How crappy would that have been when we didn't show up after RSVping yes?!? Good thing I called Gaia to see if she wanted us to bring anything, huh? Geesh... Way to go, Bee! Later days...
So, one of my teens sent me some links to videos on YouTube, and I thought this one was particularly funny:

Some of you may not know this, but I actually had a cat who used to "sing" like this before she puked... Hilarious! The video that I came to after that was rather funny as well:

So... Yeah... That's completely typical of what my teens like to show me at the programs on Friday afternoons... Wonder what craziness I will see today?!? Later days...
I can't believe that my former intern is already done working at my library... But, more than that, I cannot believe she was so lucky to find a job already -- at which she starts today! Granted, she was awesome and she deserves every bit of praise I gave her, so I am not completely surprised that she found a job already... It's just that things never seem to work out so well for many people when they graduate... I guess interning at my library is just good luck -- because finding a job (technically before graduation) has happened to me, Flower, Tech Girl, AND my former intern (for whom I still need to come up with a clever blog name)... So, congrats FI -- hope your first day is great!!! Later days...
Good thing Clark and I will not actually start carpooling until next week -- he just called to tell me that he forgot his wedding ring! He took it off to go to the gym last night (since he noticed it bending slightly when he was lifting weights one time), and he "forgot" to put it back on... I joked that I might not have time to bring it in to him, but then he started reminding me that he could "play single" all day, so I guess I can make some time for him! Teeheehee... Later days...
I hate being sick... I have been coughing and sneezing and wheezing for days now... I think it was a cold plus allergies at first and that I am now just dealing with allergies... All I know is that I am having a hard time waking up without Curves, but I have not been to Curves all week because I am afraid I will end up having to quit because of a coughing fit... Bah... Maybe tomorrow will be a better breathing day... Later days...
Hahahahahahaha... I just got this link to a free bumper sticker:
https://pol.moveon.org/stickers/?id=12648-8626272-UleEe2&t=1 -- in my e-mail... Thought some of you would want one too! Teeheehee... Later days...
To keep myself busy all day long, to complete more than I add to my "to do" list, and to make the best of the crappy situation that is my Teen Area... Last night, I rearranged the existing Teen Area since I know there is no way in hell I am going to be able to move the Teen Area to another section of the library any time soon... Grrr -- but also, oh well... The teens who have seen it already said that they love what I have done with it, and I am pretty happy with it too... At the very least, I gained access to 3 more shelves and added a table that seats 4 people... I also pulled myself out of the corner and have enough space to easily get in and out of my desk... It's not perfect, by any stretch of the imagination, but it'll do... Later days...
