My baby is a preschooler... It's hard to believe it's true... This morning, he told me, "But, I'm too little!" All I could think was, "I know, Dude!" He insists that he is only 2 and will turn 3 on his birthday -- and he won't believe me that today is his birthday... So funny! I guess little kids think birthday = party... We are going out for dinner tonight, so maybe that will be enough to convince him! Teeheehee...
Later days...
Clark knows me sooooo well, and he is the bestest hubby ever... For my birthday, he bought me the complete library of Unshelved books!!! W00t! I am such a happy girl! Later days...
Holy shit, that was a funny freakin' movie! Clark and I laughed so hard, I am sure we lost a couple of pounds... We also had fun at Fatgod and Uncle Ninja's house before and after the movie... BBQ + Guitar Heroine = FUN! Teeheehee... I didn't fall asleep until somewhere around 4am, but at least I got to sleep in until about 10am... Clark is the best... And so is his sister -- who took the boy overnight... Yeah... Definitely shaping up to be one of the best birthdays ever!!! Later days...
That Clark and I were up really, really late playing Guitar Hero with MadEye and Moonie... Yeah... We're just getting ready for bed now... Clark's party was a ton of fun, to say the very least... For once, I even feel "young" on a Friday night... That will end when Boogie gets up in the morning, I am sure, but it was fun while it lasted! Later days...
Happy birthday -- to the love of my life, the father of my child, and my best friend... I could never have made it this far in this crazy life without you as my rock... I love you more than anything or anyone (except Boogie, of course, and you agree on that one)... Thank you for being my world... I love you, baby... Later days...
Clark knows that I have some sort of birthday surprise up my sleeve (his birthday is tomorrow),
but I think he will be even more surprised than he expects (if that
makes any sense)... Teeheehee... It's fun to be so
secretive and cunning... Teeheehee... Later days...
Boogie's 2nd birthday party (and our Cinco de Mayo party) is still going on, but I didn't want to forget to post... Having a great time... Just wanted to make sure I got in my daily post... Pictures will probably be on Flickr tomorrow, but no guarantees... Gonna go back out and be social... Later days...
Boogie is two today... So hard to believe... At about this time, two years ago, I was in labor and didn't even realize it... In such a, relatively speaking, short span of time, my son has become a competent walker/runner... He has picked up more than a hundred words (though he probably understands more than a thousand)... He has gone from breastfeeding, to baby food, to table food -- and now eats completely unassisted... He has gone from helpless to Mommy's helper... Sometimes I feel like my heart will burst with pride if he learns one more new thing that day... Lately, he has become a children's music jukebox: randomly starting up with a verse of Old MacDonald, The Wheels on the Bus, or the Alphabet Song... Sometimes he will get confused and start saying "E-I-E-I-O" when he gets to "E" in the Alphabet Song... And, yet, this child has the craziest memory... He recalls all the names for the various bridges we drive past/over: the train bridge -- so named because it goes over train tracks, the apple bridge -- named for the apple on the Hannaford sign once you cross over it, the garbage bridge -- which overlooks a landfill, and so on... He even remembers which of his sippy cups have been used by which of his friends or his cousin... He seriously calls them the "[Princess] cup," the "[BigSis] cup," the "[Woogie] cup," etc... So darn cute! Since he had so much fun at the circus on Saturday night, we will probably be hearing about the "go-gygles" (motorcycles that drove around in a cage) and the "cowns" (clowns) for a long time to come! It was definitely the most fun/best circus he has ever seen (he went to a smaller, "big top" circus last summer), so I am super glad that Excuses and Sulcata thought to invite us/give Boogie a ticket for his birthday present... This morning, Clark and I brought Boogie to Chuck E. Cheese's for his birthday treat... We only got $5 worth of tokens, but that took him almost an hour, and he had a lot of fun... Then, we took him to Taco Bell for lunch -- a treat from his Great Uncle in Arizona... Boogie loves spicy food -- especially tacos, and we like Taco Bell too, so it was only logical that we would take him for his birthday... Right now, he is napping... Quite frankly, I think Clark and I should consider it too... We have had a lot of fun, but being in that loud/crazy environment definitely takes it out of you! Well... I think that is all... I'm sure we'll have a lot more fun after nap time -- especially since it's warm/sunny outside... But I don't think I will be posting anymore today... Just want to spend plenty of time with my birthday boy... Later days...
