Believe it or not, Boogie did pretty well two days in a row without a nap... Granted, he went to bed a little too early and got up a little too early this morning... But, he was extremely well-behaved for being around so many people and having less sleep than he should... Yesterday was the birthday party for Big Sis and Little Bro (Keltia's kids)... Today, we spent time hanging out with Hawaiian Mama and her X-men... I cannot believe how big Wolverine is -- or how much Professor X looks like his mama... Clark really enjoyed hanging out with Hawaiian Daddy too, and I know he too would love it if these guys all moved back to the "mainland" sometime soon... Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve tomorrow... Later days...
So, Boogie has had a Spider-Man alarm clock since last Christmas... It just hasn't been plugged in... It was more of a decorative figurine, I guess... I used it yesterday so I could take a nap without resetting my regular alarm clock, so Clark and Boogie saw it actually plugged in... Boogie was all, "That's my alarm clock?!?" Clark was like, "Yeah, you want it plugged in in your room?" So, Boogie now has an actual alarm clock... We set it to go off when I want to get Boogie up, so now I need to be doubly sure that I am upstairs and ready to get him by then -- in case it scares him and he freaks out... We did a test run last night before bed... We told him that it was going ot go off in about 5 minutes, and then we started reading stories... When it went off, we told him how he could turn it off (which he did)... I even made up an alarm clock song, a la Dane Cook's car alarm song... This one was much less clever though; all the alarm clock says is, "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" I am so deranged... Teeheehee... Later days...
So, I have been really forgetful lately... I mean, bad... And, I think a lot of it is just because I am just so damn stressed and tired... Well, last night I had a dream that I took a vacation to Florida with my whole family (riiiiight), and when we got back I said, "I can't believe I went all the way to Florida again and didn't go to Disney." Everyone started to look at me really funny, and then my mom brought out a stack of photos she just got developed -- with all of us at Disney... Then I asked whether we missed the beach, and she got out pictures of us at the beach... We found out that I had a brain tumor that was slowly taking over the section of my brain responsible for memory... Whoa... It's bad enough I didn't sleep well/long enough last night... I need to get me some sleep where shit like this isn't happening... Geesh... Later days...
So, after Clark and I went to bed near 3:15am, and I did not fall asleep until somewhere around 4am (though I think Clark fell asleep almost immediately after he closed his eyes), Boogie decided he was going to wake up at SEVEN O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING... Bleck... Since I have an amazing hubby who is used to functioning on little sleep after D&D on Friday nights, though, I was able to stay in bed... The problem was that Boogie kept crying for me, so I had to move downstairs and crash in the couch... I couldn't actually sleep, but having my eyes closed was nearly good enough -- especially since trying to keep them open made it feel like they would just up and roll out... But then, Clark took it one step further... He took Boogie to watch Unka's football practice and I got to take a nap! Oh, glorious sleep! They came back and had lunch in the basement while watching TV because it is ungodly hot and humid, and I ended up getting up at like 11:20am... Definitely felt like I was back in college! Teeheehee... Getting ready to head downstairs and play me some Guitar Hero II while Clark starts his Paper Mario adventure... (Boogie is napping upstairs)... Man, this is shaping up to be a nice day! Teeheehee... Later days...
I thought I was going to do well with sleep last night... I had done OK the night before, I was exhausted, AND I had taken my sleeping pills... Then, after I had been asleep for only about 3 or 4 hours, my mom went to the bathroom and flushed the toilet (which was right next to our bed), which scared the hell out of Clark and me... He fell right back asleep and doesn't even remember it, but I spent the next 3 to 4 hours pissed off and trying to fall asleep again... Then, I got only another 2 hours (maybe) before Boogie woke me up for good... Now, I am wondering whether I should say anything or just try to deal one more night... My mom has been totally bitchy all weekend -- since she is not smoking (anything) while she is with us... I'm happy that this may prove to her that she can quit smoking, but I hate putting up with her shit... Bah... Later days...
They really make life so much easier... I bought an imitation iPod recently, and I finally got around to adding music to it... First of all, I like the fact that Windows Media Player actually simulates iTunes pretty well (what with the "rip " and "sync" features)... And, of course, I am just so happy to think that I can carry around such an eclectic jumbling of music without one of those CD wallets like I used to keep in my car... I know... "Welcome to the 21st century, Bee!" Bah... I knew all about this stuff since it first came out... I was just too cheap and lazy to get there yet! Mostly cheap... But, yeah... To be honest, the reason I finally broke out the MP3 player is that I am going to test a new sleep therapy... I am going to listen to classical music with headphones -- so Clark doesn't have to listen too, and so he will (hopefully) be able to hear the boy if he wakes up crying in the middle of the night (which might be hard if I play the radio loud enough to block out the noises of cats, etc. that keep me awake at night)... Fingers crossed... Later days...
We kept Boogie out/up more than 2 hours after his bedtime last night -- because we were helping my MIL move... He was way better than you would expect... This morning, he actually stayed asleep until 8am -- when he is more known for waking up extra early after staying up extra late... Granted, he did get up at about 3:30am with a nightmare, so that may have been "punishment enough"... After not getting to sleep until about 1am, I then could not fall asleep again until about 5am... After helping Clark's mom again this morning, during which Boogie was very good again, we came home for a nap... Boogie would not go to sleep until about 3:30pm -- and let me tell you how I just love that being overtired makes kids stay awake... Man! So, we are on our way out to dinner with MIL, BIL, SIL, and her boyfriend, but I am worried... Boogie has been clingy and whiny, and I fear that the end of good-behavior-despite-opportunities-to-misbehave is nigh... Fingers crossed... Later days...
After being outside all day for the BBQ, taking a nap on the way home, doing yard work when we got here, and taking two of my sleeping pills (that is the correct dosage), I slept much better last night! Teeheehee... I am about to cook an awesome breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast before going to church, and then I will be off to get groceries before the BBQ at our house... I can't believe how low we're running on food... Can't wait to see everyone! Later days...
So, I slept "through the night" last night... Second night in a row that I made it past 5am without even getting up to pee (unless I managed to somehow sleepwalk to the bathroom, which I will not completely disregard as a possibility)... Anyhow... The reason it isn't "fair" is that the afore-mentioned sleep led me to have a wicked nightmare this morning -- AND Clark scared the shit out of me by kissing me goodbye right in the middle of a scary part... Plus, I noticed that my throat was sore last night when I was brushing my teeth... My left tonsil, actually... I had like 4 of those stupid tonsil stone things... Once I got them out, I gargled with Listerine -- thinking that would surely help... Well, if it did help, I don't wanna know what my throat would have felt like this morning... I hate feeling yucky on a day when I am supposed to go out and have fun... Hopefully, the Home Depot guys will bring the dishwasher early enough that I can nap at the same time as Boogie... Otherwise, I may just pass out early tonight -- and it won't have anything to do with drinking... Later days...
