Is taunting me... I'm tired, but not sleepy... And I will be doing a lock-in tonight... The official "lights out" will be at 4am... Gawd help me! Later days...
It is such a necessary thing for so many reasons, yet it eludes me at every turn... When my own body is to blame it can be either nightmares, multiple wakings [for no reason], or too many trips to the bathroom... Last night, though, my body finally cooperated -- and then the boy and the cat conspired to drive me crazy... I realize that I will soon have an infant to take care of, and I know that will cut into my sleep... But I also know that it is less difficult to get upset about it when the baby actually NEEDS something from me... The boy knew that I was trying to sleep and kept waking me up even though he didn't need a darn thing... At one point, he actually woke me up to tell me that he wanted to cuddle me so I wouldn't have to wake up -- and then proceeded to kick and punch me while he got comfortable... Ugh... I love that kid an awful lot, so I guess I will have to let him live... It just sucks because the more tired I am, the more I feel like I am going to puke... So, yeah... Tired = cranky + nauseous... I am gonna be so much fun today... Later days...
I wish I still was, but my body doesn't seem to want to cooperate... I was going to try to sleep in to make up for the fact that I will be at work until 9pm, but I guess it won't be happening... I could blame it on the fact that my hubby and son had to get up, and I could hear them getting ready, but I know that isn't true... I could blame it on the fact that Boogie's alarm clock went off after he and Clark were downstairs, so I got up to shut it off... But that would be a lie as well... I guess that, despite feeling sleepy, my body really doesn't need any more sleep at the moment... Trying to lay here with my eyes closed is just going to drive me crazy with streaming thoughts of everything I need to remember to do before work today, so I guess I am just better off getting up and dealing with it... I'm not getting up without a little whiny post to my blog, of course, but I'm getting up nonetheless... Later days...
It's a great way to waste some time when you can't seem to fall asleep... It's also a great way to fall asleep with a laptop on your lap and a mouse in your hand! Teeheehee... I totally fell asleep in the middle of a game of Scramble... When Clark finished playing WOW, he came upstairs and found me... It was pretty funny! Too bad he didn't have a camera... I would have liked to see how crazy it must have looked... BTW -- sorry I didn't end up seeing/responding to your IM Rookie... I must have actually been asleep by the time you wrote, but the laptop was still on and logged in to Facebook! (I just saw your message when I opened up the laptop to check my e-mail before getting ready for work)... Oops! Later days...
Boogie let us sleep until almost 9am this morning!!! Granted, we had him out late last night, and we are pretty sure he was up playing in his room for a while before he came to get us, but that is still wicked awesome! I swear, he sometimes wakes up earlier than normal after staying up later at night... Such a strange thing... But, I don't have time to dwell on this miracle right now... I have to go and get ready to attend a baptism for our friends' baby... Later days...
Believe it or not, Boogie did pretty well two days in a row without a nap... Granted, he went to bed a little too early and got up a little too early this morning... But, he was extremely well-behaved for being around so many people and having less sleep than he should... Yesterday was the birthday party for Big Sis and Little Bro (Keltia's kids)... Today, we spent time hanging out with Hawaiian Mama and her X-men... I cannot believe how big Wolverine is -- or how much Professor X looks like his mama... Clark really enjoyed hanging out with Hawaiian Daddy too, and I know he too would love it if these guys all moved back to the "mainland" sometime soon... Hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve tomorrow... Later days...
So, Boogie has had a Spider-Man alarm clock since last Christmas... It just hasn't been plugged in... It was more of a decorative figurine, I guess... I used it yesterday so I could take a nap without resetting my regular alarm clock, so Clark and Boogie saw it actually plugged in... Boogie was all, "That's my alarm clock?!?" Clark was like, "Yeah, you want it plugged in in your room?" So, Boogie now has an actual alarm clock... We set it to go off when I want to get Boogie up, so now I need to be doubly sure that I am upstairs and ready to get him by then -- in case it scares him and he freaks out... We did a test run last night before bed... We told him that it was going ot go off in about 5 minutes, and then we started reading stories... When it went off, we told him how he could turn it off (which he did)... I even made up an alarm clock song, a la Dane Cook's car alarm song... This one was much less clever though; all the alarm clock says is, "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" I am so deranged... Teeheehee... Later days...
So, I have been really forgetful lately... I mean, bad... And, I think a lot of it is just because I am just so damn stressed and tired... Well, last night I had a dream that I took a vacation to Florida with my whole family (riiiiight), and when we got back I said, "I can't believe I went all the way to Florida again and didn't go to Disney." Everyone started to look at me really funny, and then my mom brought out a stack of photos she just got developed -- with all of us at Disney... Then I asked whether we missed the beach, and she got out pictures of us at the beach... We found out that I had a brain tumor that was slowly taking over the section of my brain responsible for memory... Whoa... It's bad enough I didn't sleep well/long enough last night... I need to get me some sleep where shit like this isn't happening... Geesh... Later days...
So, after Clark and I went to bed near 3:15am, and I did not fall asleep until somewhere around 4am (though I think Clark fell asleep almost immediately after he closed his eyes), Boogie decided he was going to wake up at SEVEN O'CLOCK IN THE MORNING... Bleck... Since I have an amazing hubby who is used to functioning on little sleep after D&D on Friday nights, though, I was able to stay in bed... The problem was that Boogie kept crying for me, so I had to move downstairs and crash in the couch... I couldn't actually sleep, but having my eyes closed was nearly good enough -- especially since trying to keep them open made it feel like they would just up and roll out... But then, Clark took it one step further... He took Boogie to watch Unka's football practice and I got to take a nap! Oh, glorious sleep! They came back and had lunch in the basement while watching TV because it is ungodly hot and humid, and I ended up getting up at like 11:20am... Definitely felt like I was back in college! Teeheehee... Getting ready to head downstairs and play me some Guitar Hero II while Clark starts his Paper Mario adventure... (Boogie is napping upstairs)... Man, this is shaping up to be a nice day! Teeheehee... Later days...
